i was just wondering what is the best digital camera that takes great pictures & video at concerts b/c i have a sony cyber-shot [7.2 megapixels] & when i use it at concerts, it doesn’t really have the best quality & all the pictures are dark, distorted & shakey… i was wondering if anyone can reccommend a digital camera that can fix my problem…thanx
Have you raised the ISO setting somewhat say to 320 or 400? Are you perfectly still when you shoot and ditto the performers? One person recommended the Canon SX10 IS which is a very good camera. But you might get same results with the Canon. The problem may be in the way you take photos.I know it’s hard to capture entertainers still but it’s something you have to do.
I would suggest Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 10MP with 12x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3 inch LCD.It take good sharp & clear picture.Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.) helps prevent handshake when using the high-powered zoom.HD video recording in “AVCHD Lite.” allows longer recordings with breathtaking HD visual and audio quality
If you are really on a budget and want the best quality for the money, check out the P&S Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 [with a Leica lense and Live View] which has more features than most pro DSLRs that require auxiliary lenses not even equal to the single initial full-range lense that comes with the FZ28. It is reviewed at:
It’s an all-in-one 10.1 megapixel digital camera which includes (i) built-in image stabilization; (ii) HD720 quality video [Quicktime] which permits zooming while videoing skateboarding, action sports; (iii) a 18x zoom [27 - 486 mm (35mm equiv.)] “Leica” lense for nature and concert photography; (iv) up to 0.39 inch macro option; (v) up to 6400 ASA; (vi) takes up to 380 pictures per 120 min. battery charge; (vii) has a “burst speed” of 13 fps; and sells new for $464 at amazon.com. in the U.S.

you might try going for a DSLRs, they preform the best in low light.
the cheapest one you can get with a decent zoom lens retails for around 600$
the one I’d recommend is last year’s Canon Rebel XS with the body only and a 18 -200 mm EF-s lens bought seperately
