Hello,
I want to buy a digital camera. I don’t want anything too expensive and I don’t really need more than 10 mega pixels but if you know a reasonably priced camera with more than 10 please suggest. I want a camera with a rechargeable battery. I also want a camera with a fairly large screen (no less than 2″).
Please can you suggest a good camera.
Ah, the choice is dazzling and bewildering. So much so, that I’m not going to recommend one.
What I will say, it go for something with a decent lens. And when I say decent, I mean from a comany that made film cameras for years, rather than just an electronics company. Make sure it has decent zoom ability too, rather than the usual 3 or 4x optical zoom (forget digital zoom, it’s worse than useless).
And I would recommend a camera that takes AA batteries. You can get them anywhere. You can’t get your charger and a mains socket anywhere.
i got a pink fujifilm for christmas – got 10.2 mega pixel not sure what size screen but it is a decent size and is very very clear to view the pictures. I think it is a J28 and cost around £70 from Comet or Currys
I do not know what is your price range, so I will suggest a few options.
Recommendations:
Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS (see 1st link below – estimated cost $150)
Canon PowerShot A480 (see 2nd link below – estimated cost $99)
Below I listed some links that will provide information and options if you go shopping. Amazon, B&H Photo, and Adorama often have customer reviews of products and that may help you be certain of an item.
I would recommend you
Canon PowerShot SD1200IS 10 MP Digital Camera
3x optical zoom; 2.5-inch PureColor LCD II screen
DIGIC 4 Image Processor with evolved Face Detection Technology; Face Detection Self-timer

Hasselblad H4D-60 with a 80mm lens. That’s probably the best camera money can buy.
Leica M9 with 50mm and 35mm lenses, Leica S2, Nikon D3x, Canon 1Ds mkIII, Mamiya 645AFD series, all worthy candidates too.
